Fly Fishing Canada: Extra Gear
Posted by fliesandfinsnorth on Wednesday, November 15 @ 05:39:15 PST
I have always used my own rods, waders and so forth but if your going with an outfitter or guide they may supply gear for your trip. This is an important thing to know as torn waders or a broken rod can spoil a trip fast and some of the great fishing is not going to have a flie shop close. I usually take at least 2 or 3 rods and 2 reels with one or 2 extra spools of diffeent line weigts. enough leaders for 2 people and extra waders and boots.
There is a good product out that is in a lot of flie shops now for patching leaks in waders. It comes in a small tube and dries hard as a rock in seconds when exposed to sunlight or ultraviolet light. This product has saved many trips for me and some of my friends. Rods break, boots leak, lines get spoolead or break, take extra.
