Tips, Ties And Tactics Cape Breton Fly Fishing: Choice Of Rivers
Posted by fliesandfinsnorth on Thursday, November 23 @ 17:15:54 PST

High water on the Margaree River does not mean you can't try some other rivers and find lower water holding fish and several species of fish. Good size Rainbows with sea lice still on them can be caught from 18" to 26" and some larger fish are caught on these other rivers. The Middle River and the Badeck River are 2 well known rivers only that produce the above as well as Atlantic Salmon. Finding rivers to fish is no problem in Cape Breton.

As you can see from a map of cape Breton there are numerous rivers and all hold fish. You might have to do some walking to find them, so be sure and take water with you and maybe a candy bar. The point is if the Margaree is running high you may want to check these other rivers as they may not be as high or have geographical changes that changes the flow.
