Teno River: Home Of The World Record Salmon
Posted by boz on Friday, March 09 @ 11:46:38 PST
My wife an I will be traveling to Finland this July to visit her family in Helsinki. I would like to head up to fish the Teno River near Utsjoki for a couple days and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience in this part of the world. From what I've read it is the most productive Salmon River in Europe and holds the world record fish as well. I'll be there in mid July, and appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Re: Teno River Home of the World Record Salmon by Keith on Saturday, March 10 @ 10:11:41 PST | Hey Boz: No advice here, but that sounds like a killer trip. My mother's family is from Finland and I have always wanted to visit. And since a bright atlantic is at the top of my life list, your trip has got me interested. I think most of the salmon angling is way up north. If you make the push up that way, I think the Ponoi in Russia is another insane salmon river that isn't too far away. I'll be interested to here how your trip goes, both on and off the water. Good Luck!
