Cape Breton: Fall Atlantic Salmon Run
Posted by fliesandfinsnorth on Wednesday, October 17 @ 05:47:24 PDT
Tomorrow at 04:00 Kenny and I leave for Cape Breton Canada for our annual Fall Atlantic Salmon trip. Here are some things to consider if you find yourself making a similar Atlantic Salmon trip during this time of year.
First be sure your vehicle is ready for the trip. Tripple A isn't coming. Will it be warm or cold? Do not kid yourself into thinking, yes it's Fall and will be cold at night and maybe during the day. The truth is it could be freezing at night and 75 during the day or it could be cold and snowing during the day. The tip is take clothes that you can layer, long underware, thermal heavy shirts and T-shirts. Gloves for fishing and a warm hat. Your heavy and light rain gear as on big rivers these may be your only shelter. My rule of thumb is easy, if I don't bring it I'll need it!
